Today, the reprehensible rhetoric from GOP politicians plays to the worst instincts of Republican base voters. It will take Democratic leadership in the White House and Congress to get past the polarizing debate and deal with all the various facets of immigration policy.
Barve believes it’s essential for our economic strength that we bring undocumented people out of the shadows, create a pathway to citizenship, and allow them to fully participate in our economy and society. We need to increase the number of visas available to those who have skills we need more of in our labor market. While right wing Republicans appeal to fear and xenophobia, Kumar Barve will lead the fight for comprehensive immigration reform by taking advantage of the growing support from business leaders and the faith community. That’s how he’ll build the coalition we need for new immigration policy that ensures America remains competitive in the global economy.
